Maria C. (Sousa) Medeiros

Westport – Maria C. (Sousa) Medeiros, age 83, of Westport passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Horacio P. Medeiros.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was the beloved daughter of the late Antonio B. Sousa and Maria Estrella (Costa) Sousa. She had been an inspector for Madeira Twin Fashions Coat Factory for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria (Stella) E. Farias and her husband Keith of Westport; 4 sons, Horacio A. Medeiros of New Bedford, Francisco Medeiros of New Bedford, Mitch Medeiros of New Bedford and Stephen Medeiros of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maria Gloria Pacheco of New Bedford, Maria L. Barbosa of Somerset and Maria H. Sousa of New Jersey; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Sousa, Antonio Sousa, Maria E. Pacheco and Maria J. Pereira.

Maria’s funeral services will be private due to the recent mandated restrictions in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this very difficult time.
