Maria (Ferreira) Laranja

New Bedford – Maria (Ferreira) Laranja, age 67, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Joao Luis Laranja.

Born in St. Michael, Azores she was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Ferreira and Isabel (Costa) Ferreira. Maria had been a loving homemaker to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Joao; siblings, Ana Couto and her husband Jose, Adriana Dunn, Lucy Ferreira, Grace Ferreira, John Ferreira, Joe Ferreira and his wife Ana and Frank Ferreira; Jaime Ferreira, who was like a daughter to Maria; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the sister of the late Fatima Ferreira, Steven Ferreira, Gloria Ferreira and Eduardo Ferreira and aunt of the late Cliff Raposo and Bryan Tavares.

Her funeral services will be private due to the recent mandated restrictions in regards to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
