Henrietta Oliveira

New Bedford – Henrietta “Etta” Oliveira, age 95, of New Bedford passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

She was the daughter of the late Palmira and Ernesto S. Oliveira of New Bedford and Fairhaven. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy E. Barrows and aunt of the late Russell Barrows.

She was the former owner of Etta’s Beauty Salons in New Bedford and Marion. Upon retiring from hairdressing in 1952, she worked as a clerk at the courts in Fall River and Taunton, MA. Etta also worked second jobs at various other businesses within New Bedford in her younger years.

Her joys in life were her godchild/nephew, Frank P. Barrows, III, and wife, Sharon, with family from New Jersey and her niece, Marlene E. Centeio, and husband, John, with family from Texas and Florida. She leaves behind many good friends and extended family members.
