Maria C. (Verissimo) Dias

New Bedford – Maria Connie (Verissimo) Dias, age 54, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Alfredo F. Zamora.

Born in São Mateus, Terceira, Açores she was the daughter of the late Jose Verissimo and Maria L. Verissimo. She had worked for the State of Massachusetts as a caretaker.

She is survived by her husband, Alfredo; children, Christopher Verissimo and Felicia Dias; grandchildren, Avah Trinidad and Nasire Palmer; siblings, S. Mateus of Terceira, Joao Manuel Silveira Verissimo, Jorge Manuel Silveira and Adriana Correia.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 15th at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will be Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
