Emily Souza

New Bedford – Emily Souza, age 88, presently of New Bedford and formerly of Lady Lake, FL and Fairhaven, MA, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Gabriel Souza, Sr.

Born in New Bedford, MA she was the daughter of the late Alfred Mendoza, Sr. and Veronica Mendoza. She worked at Vanity Fair Manufacturing as a quality control supervisor.

She is survived by her daughter in-law, Evelyn Souza; granddaughters, Dr. Tricia A. Carty and her husband Joseph, Stacy Speckmann and her husband Michael; 4 great-grandchildren, Crista and Caitlin Carty, Baylor and Campbell Speckmann; her godchild, Diane Phillips; sister in-law, Florence Mendoza; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Gabriel Souza Jr. and sister of the late Alfred Mendoza Jr.

Her funeral services were private.
