Maria (Almeida) Pacheco

New Bedford – Maria (Almeida) Pacheco, age 71, of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Hipolito Pacheco.

Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Eduardo and Virginia (Couto) Almeida. She had been a loving housewife to her family as well as a loving caregiver to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. Maria was a devout Roman Catholic, who was very involved in her church community and she loved to knit in her spare time.

She is survived by her husband, Hipolito; her children, Almorinda Sausa and her husband Peter, Fernando Pacheco and his wife Paula, Hipolito Pacheco, Valter Pacheco and his wife Graca, Alexandria Camara and her husband Rui, Fhilipe Pacheco and his wife Sandra and Acacio Pacheco and his wife Maita; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday morning, February 13th from 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial immediately following in Rural Cemetery.
