Yvonne (Parent) Arruda

New Bedford - Yvonne (Parent) Arruda, died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the widow of William Arruda. Mrs. Arruda is survived by: 2 Sons: William Arruda Jr. of New Bedford, Charles Arruda and his wife Eva of Dartmouth, 3 daughters: Jeannette Rodrigues and her husband Charlie of South Dartmouth, Colleen Costa of South Dartmouth and Shirley Chase of New Bedford, 3 sisters: Irene Janik of Fairhaven, Beatrice Jasmin of S. Dartmouth, and Alice Valiquette of Westport, a daughter–in–law Lillian Arruda of Taunton, 14 grandghildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Arthur Arruda, grandmother of the late Kelly Chase and David Arruda, sister of the late William, Arthur, Albert, Leo and Earnest Parent and Jeanette Roderiques and mother-in-law of the late Alice Arruda and Robert Costa. She is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Arruda was the daughter of the late Arthur and Malvina (St.Jean) Parent. She was born in New Bedford, lived in this area all of her life. She was formerly a stitcher at Elco Dress Mfg.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, South Dartmouth, MA. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, February 6, 2006 from 5 – 8 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jewish Convalescent Home, 200 Hawthorn St., New Bedford, MA. 02740.
