Nancy P. Estrella

New Bedford – Nancy P. Estrella, age 68, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at her home after a battle with Lupus. Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Antone and Margarida (Fernandes) Estrella.

Nancy had served in the United States Marine Corps. She was a graduate of Fisher College and received her degree in paralegal Studies. She was a Constable for the City of New Bedford and a Notary Public for many years.

Nancy was a pillar of strength and a book of knowledge. Her love of travel took her to places like Alaska, Florida, Portugal and her home away from home Cape Verde. Nancy was a confidant to many and a friend to all. As she would say “it’s a Nan thing” and always signed with 143NMW! She was a member of the Cape Verdean Association, as well as the Vets.

She is survived by her siblings, Nora Estrella, Natalie Estrella and Alan Estrella; her nephews, John J. Estrella and his wife Diana, Chris Estrella and his partner Sharon and Peter Lucas and his wife Annette; her niece, Sara L’Hurex and her husband Luc; as well as a great-niece, Alisha Estrella. She was also the sister of the late John P. Estrella and Susan Estrella Lucas.

Nancy’s funeral services and burial are private.
