Maria C. (Rosa) Ventura

Dartmouth – Maria C. (Rosa) Ventura, age 59, of Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at home. She was the beloved wife of Jorge M. Ventura.

Maria was born in Faial, Azores, Portugal to the late Jose Silveira Rosa and Balbina (Gracia) Rosa. She moved to this area in 1969, where she had worked at Johnson & Johnson making instrument repairs. She also worked as a C.N.A. for the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home and had also worked as a greeter for Walmart.

Maria had a heart of gold. She was a very loving and caring woman, who would always be ready to help anyone that she could. All who knew Maria would wholeheartedly agree that she was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend.

She is survived by husband, Jorge; daughter, Ann Marie Freitas and her husband Daniel; daughter, Melanie Ventura; 3 grandchildren, Marissa Freitas, Mason Freitas and Michael Ventura; as well as her sister, Fatima Rosario. She was also the sister of the late Norberto Rosa.

Maria’s visiting hours will take place on Sunday, January 5th from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will be Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
