Gracinda Pinheiro Calisto Carvalho Pereira

New Bedford – Gracinda Pinheiro Calisto Carvalho Pereira, age 88, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio M. Pereira.

Gracinda was born in Lisbon, Portugal to the late Joaquim Pinheiro Carvalho and Aurora (Pinheiro) Carvalho. She had been an accountant in Portugal and when she moved to this area, she had worked as a supervisor for Berkshire Hathaway for many years. Gracinda was a loving housewife to her family.

She is survived by her son, Arthur Pereira and his wife Daphne of Fairhaven; son, George Pereira of New Jersey; daughter, Alexandra Pereira of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as her nephew, Jose Carlos Carvalho.

Gracinda’s visiting hours will be held Friday, January 3rd from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will be Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be private.
