Theresa (Figueira) Galego

Dartmouth – Theresa Galego, age 89, of South Dartmouth, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur C. Gallego.

Theresa was born in St. Michael, Azores to the late Manuel and Elvira (Ponte) Figueira. She came to this country in 1951 where she worked at a coat factory as a stitcher for many years.

She is survived by her son, Carlos M. Galego, husband of Alcina of New Bedford; daughter, Debra M. Correia, wife of Alvaro of South Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Aaron, Ethan and Hannah; 3 great-grandchildren, Braden, Victoria and Sofia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Theresa’s visiting hours will be held Tuesday morning, November 12th from 8:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. Her funeral will immediately follow with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church in South Dartmouth at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
