Maria A. Walsh

Dartmouth – Maria A. Walsh, age 94, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Carroll D. Walsh and the daughter of the late Tomaz and Maria do Lurdes (Costa) Da Camara.

Maria was born in Matriz, St. Michael, Azores and moved to this country in 1961. She worked as a floor lady for Paul Modes for many years until her retirement. She was also a member of the Hedwig Seniors.

She is survived by one sister, Eduarda Alves of New Bedford; 2 nephews, Frank Camara and Ken Walsh; as well as, several other nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Pete E. Walsh and the sister of the late Jose Camara and Jacinto Camara.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will be Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
