Manuel Amaral Jr.

Fairhaven- Manuel Amaral Jr., died Friday January 13, 2005 at Nichols House Nursing Home in Fairhaven. He was the brother of the late Theresa Souza, Isabel Leitao and Frank Amaral.

Mr. Amaral was born in New Bedford. He was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Pacheco) Amaral. Mr. Amaral was a Veteran of Foreign Wars Andrew-Dahill post # 1531, Disabled American Veteran Chapter Burt # 7. Private First Class of U.S. Army. Purple Heart recipient from wounds received in action on Guadalcanal, Solomon Island. Promoted Veteran Services for the U.S. Government after his tour of duty and also was very promotive of Veteran’s Status.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday January 17, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 P.M., on Monday January 16, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
