New Bedford MA, Almarinda “Alma” (Rapoza) Rackowski 87- died on Sunday January 8, 2006 at New Bedford MA. Mrs. Rackowski was the widow of William Rackowski. Survivors include a Daughter Cynthia M. Pacheco of New Bedford. 2 Brothers; Manuel and Joseph Rapoza both of New Bedford, 2 Sisters; Mary Frias of N. Dartmouth MA. and Elsie Poitras of Acushnet MA. Grandchildren; Michael, Mark and Susan Pacheco. Deceased Sister; Irene Rapoza.

Mrs. Rackowski was born in New Bedford. She was the Daughter of the late Maria (Bizzaro) and Manuel Rapoza. She was formerly employed as a Waitress for the Quechan Club in Fall River hostess at the Fall River Country Club and former stitcher at Local Textile Mills. She was a member of the AARP, V.F.W. Auxillary in Tiverton,R.I. , She also liked to Knit Baby Bonnets for St. Luke’s Hospital.

Her funeral will be Wednesday January 11, 2006, from the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at A.M. with a Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church, on County St., New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be from 6-9 P.M. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery.
