Paula Eastman

d. March 24, 2019

Paula (Sainsbury) (Hazzard) Eastman, aged 77, mother, daughter, friend, wife and partner, died peacefully at sunset on Sunday, March 24, with her loved ones by her side.

Paula was born and raised in Providence, RI. After attending Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, Paula worked at various businesses and was secretary at St. Paul’s Church in Wickford, RI. After moving to New Hampshire, Paula became a real estate appraiser and worked at Vista Associates in Mt. Washington Valley for many years.

Upon retiring, she devoted herself to golf and life’s more laid back endeavors, enjoying winters in Florida and summers in Maine. She loved to cook, enjoyed gardening and her weekly golf outings and mahjong matches with her girlfriends. She enjoyed flamingo parties and Scotch foursomes and could always be counted on to bring the most amazing fruit salad to most any potluck.

Most of all she loved her family and her beloved pets. Paula will be remembered for her laughter and joy as well as her resilience, strength and courage during difficult times.

Paula is predeceased by her parents Russell and Harriette Sainsbury, her sister Diane Letts, her former husband Sidney Hazzard, and her beloved husband of 19 years, Robert Eastman.

Paula leaves behind her life and golf partner Patrick Johnston of Lady Lake, FL and their fur baby, Emma Sue; her children: Carol Greene of Dover-Foxcroft, Maine; Russell and his wife, Juliet Hazzard of Defuniak Springs, FL; Hollie Hazzard and her husband Cliff Cabral of Brownfield, ME; and son Randall Hazzard and his wife Rosemary of Dartmouth, MA; step children Rachel Thurston of Lovell, ME; Elizabeth Eastman of Waterville Valley, NH; and Robert Eastman. Grandchildren include Brittany Carambio, Samuel Hazzard; Christen Hazzard and Emily Coughlin; Reghan, Rhett, and Leil Hazzard; nephews Scott and Raymond Letts and their spouses of Florida. Paula was blessed to have many great grandchildren.
