Maria Do Carmo Moniz Ferreira

Providence R.I. – Maria do Carmo Moniz Ferreira , age 72, of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday March 6th, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Encarnacao (Moniz) Ferreira.

Maria was born in Ribeira das Tainhas, St. Michael, Azores and lived in this area for many years. She worked as a Seamstress at local garment factories for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by 4 siblings: Manuel Adelino Ferreira, Maria Idalina Matos, Armando Moniz Ferreira and Gilberto Moniz Ferreira. Maria was also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend her visiting hours on Friday evening, March 8th, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be Saturday morning, March 9th, 2019 beginning in the funeral home at 7:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mt. Carmel Church at 8:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
