Dorothy M. (Simmons) Botelho

New Bedford – Dorothy M. (Simmons) Botelho, age 90, of New Bedford passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late John Botelho Jr. and the late Russell Mason.

Dorothy was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Alfred and Mary (Ferreira) Simmons. She had worked as a bank teller for Fairhaven Savings Bank, as well as, a tour guide for Sun Pleasure Tours.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Goheen and her husband, Fred of Michigan, Karen Donnelly of New Bedford, Gayle Smale of New Bedford; grandchildren, Russell Goheen, Brian Goheen, Sara Goheen and Megan Reilly, all of Michigan, Jennifer DeMelo of New Bedford, James Donnelly of Florida and Joshua Smale of Maine; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as 3 nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28th at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Evangelical Community Church located at 88 Hathaway Rd, North Dartmouth, MA 02747. Everyone wishing to attend her service is kindly asked to meet directly at the church. A buffet will immediately follow in the fellowship hall.
