Maria Manuela (Simoes) Saltao

New Bedford – Maria Manuela (Simoes) Saltao, age 89, of New Bedford passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at The Oaks. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio M. Saltao.

Maria was born in Tavarede, Portugal to Alexandre and Maria da Guia (Soares) Simoes. She had been employed as a seamstress for Delilah’s Wedding Dress Shop. She lived for her family and dear friends, who were very important to her.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Rosa (Saltao) Olivier and her husband, Alan; grandson, Andre A. Olivier, whom she adored; sister, Amelia Fernandes; as well as 3 nephews. She was also the mother of the late Tony Saltao.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held Monday morning at Perry Funeral Home from 8:30 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to an animal shelter of your choice or perform a random act of kindness in Maria’s memory.
