Ricardo E. Arruda

New Bedford – Ricardo E. Arruda, age 72, of New Bedford passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Emily Arruda and son of the late Edward L. and Elsie (Pires) Arruda.

Ricardo was born in New Bedford, MA and had been a boss at Foley Fish House, also worked in the Meat Department at Trucchi's. He also served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his fiancée, Elizabeth Ann Carvalho; daughter, Lisa Dumont; former wife, Joyce Arruda; grandchildren, Richard, Brandon and Michael Dumont and Michael and Savanna Arruda; multiple great-grandchildren; 2 step-daughters, Constance and Mandy Garcia; sister, Joan Arruda and Carol O’Shea; 2 half-sisters, Lori and Susan Arruda; as well as multiple nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Michael Arruda.

Ricardo’s visiting hours will be held Thursday morning from 9:45-11:45 A.M. in the funeral home with a service to begin at 11:45 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
