Maria Gloria (Deus) Furtado

New Bedford– Maria Gloria (Deus) Furtado, age 79, of Dartmouth passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Furtado. Born in Ribeira Quente, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Gloria Deus.

She is survived by her daughter, Dora Pimentel and her late husband, Jose Pimentel; grandchildren, Jessica Luz and her husband, Joseph Luz and Ryan Pimentel; great-grandchildren, Jesslyn, Jeremiah and Joley; siblings, Maria Carreiro, Adeline Deslauriers, Alfred Deus, Manuel Deus and Angelo Deus; as well as several nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was also the sister of the late Jose Deus.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Her funeral will be Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:45 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery.
