New Bedford Bertha (Ares) Cruz aged 87years, passed away December 7, 2005, at St. Lukes Hospital. She was the wife of the late Alfred l. Cruz, Survivors include; 3 Daughters Gloria Tavares, Lorraine Araujo and Shirley Cruz all of New Bedford. Deceased Children Joseph, Alfred Jr., Ronald, Diane and Debra Cruz. 17 Granddhildren, many Greatgrandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews Deceased Siblings; David, Adrian and Leo Ares, Edna Courtamache , Laura Sousa, Eva Poulin, Lillian Perry, Jeanette LeClair, Doris Kowalik and Rose Sebastion.

Mrs. Cruz was born in New Bedford, MA. She was a Daughter of the late Moise and Lea (Rodrigues) Ares,

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday December 10, 2005 at St.Anthony of Padua Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 P.M., at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St
