Deolinda Freitas

New Bedford – Deolinda Freitas, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in New Bedford she was the beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Virginia (Fernandes) Freitas.

Deolinda was an office worker for Cornell Dubilier for many years until her retirement. She was known for being an excellent cook as well as an excellent baker.

She is survived by 2 Brothers: Manuel Freitas of Lady Lake Florida and Augostinho Freitas and his wife Helen of Sarasota Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she cared for lovingly for many years. Deolinda was also the sister of the late Frank, John, Antone, Joseph, Danny and Raymond Freitas as well as Celeste Souza, Alice Mello and Mary Arthur.

In accordance with her wishes there wil be no calling hours. Deolinda’s funeral will take place Friday July 27th At 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will immediately follow in St. John Cemetery. Everyone attending is asked to meet directly at church.
