Angelina Almeida

New Bedford – Angelina Almeida, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Royal Taber with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Jose Almeida; mother of, Joao Almeida and his wife, Lucy Pedro of S. Dartmouth, Manuel Almeida and his wife, Maria of New Bedford, Jose Almeida and his wife, Ana of Acushnet, David Almeida and his wife, Andrea of Texas, Lucy Brum and her husband, Louie of Acushnet; grandchildren, Bobby, Gary, Jeffrey, Timmy and Derek Almeida, Kelly and Nicole Almeida, Lacey Brum, Danielle Almeida, Meaghan Brum, Cameron Almeida and Katie Almeida; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Maria Bizarro, Lurdes Leste and Lidia Martins; as well as mother-in-law of the late Maria dos Anjos Almeida.

Mrs. Almeida was born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and was the daughter of the late Maria Dos Anjos (Vasconcelos) and Manuel Almeida. She has lived in the New Bedford area since 1969 and worked as a stitcher for Mar-Lil Industries until her retirement. Angelina was also a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the Holy Ghost Society.

Mrs. Almeida’s visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5:00 -8:00 P.M. Her funeral service will be Friday morning beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
