New Bedford – Marjorie Rose Clayton, age 85, passed away quietly comforted by her family at home on May 2, 2018.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was the mother of the late Stephen A. Clayton, daughter of the late Antone and Mary Campos, sister of the late Louise and Raymond Sylvia.
She is survived by her daughter, also named Marjorie R. Clayton of New Bedford; her granddaughter, Denise M. Alfonso and her fiancé Jordon Maceachern and her great-grandson, Andrew W. Burdick, all from Dartmouth; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie worked at St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed being with her family, playing Chinese checkers, watching Wheel of Fortune and PGA golf.
She was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter that she loved deeply and cherished. Denise’s love and devotion to help caring for her Nana made her days extra special. Andrew always brightened her days with a smile and Jordon for lending a helping hand.
To Jackie, my mother’s aid, with a heart of gold, who became so much more, my family and friends for their love and support and Dr. Dirican for his amazing kindness, I couldn’t have done it without all of you. With all of my heart, thank you.
Private services were held May 4th at Perry Funeral Home.
Arrangements are placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, MA 02740.
