Jose F. Cruz

New Bedford - Jose F. Cruz, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Taber St. Nursing Center. He was the husband of Pauline (Ramos) Cruz. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Amelia Cruz of Oklahoma and Anna Cruz of California, 1 Brother: Peter Cruz of Fairhaven, 3 Sisters : Antonia Moore of Boston, Maria Grace of New Bedford and Gloria Corchado of S. Dartmouth. 4 Grandchildren and 1 Godchild : Lorraine A. Cruz of New Bedford.

Mr. Cruz was the son of the late Anna (Gregoire) and Francisco P. Cruz . He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all his life. He was a Retired Policeman for the City of New Bedford. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the New Bedford Police Association and the American Legion Post 1.

The Funeral Mass will take place Thursday November 3, 2005 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 A.M. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours are Thursday morning prior to the mass, from 7:30 – 8:30 A.M. at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA. Relatives and friends are invited.
