John (Jae One) Bernardo, Jr.

New Bedford– John (Jae One) Bernardo, Jr., age 41 of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the fiancée of Kelly Lima and the son of Joao F. Bernardo Sr. and Dorothy Roderigues.

He was born in New Bedford and had been a welder for Sons Marine & Industrial Inc. John had a passion for music, a love of fishing and his two sons, Justyn and Derek, were his world.

He is survived by his parents; two children, Justyn and Derek Bernardo; fiancée, Kelly Lima; sister, Shannon Gomes; brother, Steve Gomes, Jr.; grandparents, Geraldine “Mummy” Gomes and Joseph Gomes; his step mom, Nancy Jane Bernardo; his godparents, Grace and Jaime Cabral; as well as, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend John's visiting hours on Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. His funeral services will be held during visiting hours. Burial will be private.
