Gilbert Costa, Jr.

New Bedford – Gilbert Costa, Jr., age 73 of Dartmouth, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at home. He was the beloved husband of Janice M. (Vital) Costa and the son of the late Jacintha (Mello) and Gilbert Costa.

Gilbert was born in New Bedford. He served in the U.S. Navy and was also a mechanic for Hemingway Transport.

He is survived his wife, Janice; son, Robert G. Costa; sister, Violet Netinho and her husband, Donald; as well as 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Thursday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery
