Rosa F. Brum

New Bedford – Rosa F. Brum, age 91 of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao M. Brum and the daughter of the late Maria Acensao (Reis) and Luiz Furtado.

Rosa was born in Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores. She had worked as a stitcher for River Bay Clothing Manufacturing and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Margarida Oliveira, Joao M. Brum and Cecilia Mello; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Jose L. Brum.

Her visiting hours will be Sunday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 9:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John's Cemetery.
