Urania Mendonca

Fall River – Urania (de Paiva) Mendonca, age 88 of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Catholic Memorial Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Mendonca and the daughter of the late Guillmena (Mota) and Manuel de Paiva.

She was born in Vila da Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores and worked as an Inspector for Macintosh Manufacturing.

She is survived by her siblings, Oscar Mota of Swansea and Conceicao Paiva of the Azores, Portugal; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel de Paiva, the late Jose Mota and the late Zilda Paiva.

Her visiting hours will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home between 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
