Jose Rocha

New Bedford - Jose P. Rocha, age 81, of Fairhaven, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the son of the late Pedro and Deolinda Rocha. Jose was the husband of the late Cremilde (DeMelo) Rocha.

Mr. Rocha was born in Terceira, Azores. He lived most of his life here and was a carpenter.

He is survived by 2 children; daughter, Diane Rodrigues and her husband Juan of New Bedford; daughter, Lucy Costeira and her husband Joaquim of Fairhaven; 5 grandchildren; Johnny Rodrigues, Crystal Costeira, Christine Rodrigues, Christopher Costeira, Colby Costeira; 1 great grandchild; Chloe Celona as well as a niece and nephews. He was also the brother of the late, Pedro Rocha.

His funeral will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home prior to the mass between 9:00-10:00 A.M.
