Maria Barbosa

New Bedford-Maria (Costa) Barbosa died Monday August 29, 2005 at St. Lukes Hospital, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Manuel M. Barbosa. She was the mother of Paul Costa husband of Maria of New Bedford, John Melo husband of Lucy of New Bedford, Eduarda wife of Antonio Oliveira of New Bedford, Joe Melo husband of Goreti of Dartmouth, and Olivia wife of Mark Stone of Westport Ma. Sister of Edwino Costa of New Bedford, Manuel Costa of St Michael, Azores, Maria Goncalo of Montreal, Canada and Conceicao Pimental of Montreal, Canada. 9 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Antonio and Joao Costa.

Mrs. Barbosa was the daughter of the late Manuel and Alexandrina (Cidade) Costa . She was born in St. Michael, Azores. She was a homemaker. She was a Parishoner at Mt. Carmel Church.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday September 1, 2005 at 9 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 5-8 P.M., on Wednesday August 31, 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
