Americo Raposo

New Bedford – Americo Raposo, age 62 of New Bedford, passed away on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Stella (Amaral) Raposo and the son of the late Jose and Donatilde (Sousa) Raposo.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, Americo came to this country in 1969 and worked as a laborer in the construction industry for many years until his retirement.

His family includes 4 children: Nelson Raposo, Kenny Raposo, Nita Linhares, and Jennifer Raposo all of New Bedford, as well as 11 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 5 sisters and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be Saturday beginning in the funeral home at 8:30 A.M. with a Service to begin at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
