Mary Ann Bettencourt

Dartmouth – Mary Ann Bettencourt, age 73, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Robert L. Bettencourt and the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Lucas) Mello, Sr.

Mrs. Bettencourt was a lifelong resident of this area, a graduate of Dartmouth High School and worked as a Bookkeeper for the Dartmouth Public School System.

She is survived by 3 children: Robert M. Bettencourt and his wife, Heather L., of Tewksbury, Jeremy W. Bettencourt and his wife, Nicole M., of Mansfield and Bryan C. Bettencourt and his spouse, John C. of Salem; 5 grandchildren: Jacob, Hannah, Nathan, Grace and Brayden Bettencourt; siblings: Donald Mello of New Bedford, Carol Groves of Tiverton, RI; as well several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, Frank Mello, Jr.

Her funeral will be Wednesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. ,with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at St. Mary’s Church Padanaram at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. THE FAMILY HAS REQUESTED THAT THOSE ATTENDING THE WAKE TO NOT WEAR ANYTHING BLACK TO THE WAKE.
