New Bedford-Jean Ann (Jaworski) Oliveira of New Bedford passed away peacefully at her home on November 19 surrounded by her family, after a 6 year battle with lung cancer.

Jean was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Latusek) Jaworski and was the loving wife to Manuel for almost 34 years.
She was a wonderful and caring Mum, a fantastic Babci to her grandchildren and a loyal and devoted friends to many.
Jean attended mass and was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

Jean was born in New Bedford and was a lifelong resident of the city.
She began her career working for The City of New Bedford at City Hall and then spent almost 30 years as an Administrative Assistant at Greater New Bedford Voke Tech High School. Upon retirement at the age of 65, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending quiet time at the beach, lying by the pool and spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Jean and Manny loved to travel especially to Cancun and Cabo San Lucas, as they took multiple trips during their time together. They also enjoyed many yearly trips to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. They became faithful fans of the football program and spent many Saturday’s employed by the University on game day. She was forever grateful to her Notre Dame family, friends and community for all the prayers over the years…especially Joe and Nancy Broadstreet. Jean and Manny took one last trip in October of 2016 to the beautiful Islands of the Acores.
Jean also loved to spend time with her lifelong girlfriends…Mary Lou Davis, Sandra Moniz and Joannie Mitchell. They took many trips together to island destinations, their favorite being Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean. You could find them often dining out downtown in the city.

Survivors include her widower Manuel, her three children Michael Bradshaw and wife Robin, Mark Bradshaw and wife Rhonda and Marni and Donald Rodrigues.She is also survived by her seven grandchildren….Connor and Gregory Bradshaw, Samantha and Jake Bradshaw and Richard Johnson, and Eve and Colin Rodrigues.She was the sister of the late William Frank Jaworski, and cousin to Theodore (Eleanor) Fryzel, Jean Ashworth and Diana (Alan) Vaughn.

Her funeral will be Saturday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 A.M. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 4 :00 – 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, Jean has requested a donation be made in her honor to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital for Childhood Cancer…www.stjude.org.
