Carl Sylvia

New Bedford – Carl Sylvia died August 13, 2005 at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital. He was the brother of Ruth Berube of New Bedford, and the late Raul Sylvia. He was Uncle to Michelle Gonsalves, and Grand-Uncle to Blaine and Paige Gonsalves

Mr. Sylvia was the son of the late Antone and Mary (Tavares) Sylvia. He was the Proprietor of the Pilot House Café. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S.Army during WW II. He received the Bronze Star for his service. He was a member of St John The Baptist Church.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St John the Baptist Church at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday August 16, 2005. Visiting hours will be Monday August 15, 2005 from 6 to 8 P.M. at The Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St.
