Adelio A. Pereira

Fall River - Adelio A. Pereira, age 68, passed away on Saturday. October 15, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Maria Fatima (Jorge) Pereira and the son of the late Christina (Correia) and Luis Pereira.

He was born in Horta Faial Azores and moved to this area in 1967 where he worked for New Bedford Wire and Fence for many years as well as Long Built Homes. When Adelio arrived in the states he became a member as well as playing soccer for Clube Faialense for several years.

He is survived by his wife Maria, 2 daughters: Connie Espindola and her husband Todd of Dartmouth and Dorothy Pereira of New Bedford, a son: Brian Pereira of Dartmouth, grandchildren: Sage and Luke Espindola, Jacob and Brandon Fontes and Kelsey Rosa. Siblings Ulmina Santos, Zelia Medeiros and Helder Pereira as well as many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be Friday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening in the funeral home from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
