Lucia G. Silveira

New Bedford – Lucia G. Silveira 67 of New Bedford passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Hathaway Manor. Born in New Bedford she lived there all of her life. She was pre-deceased by her parents George G. Silveira and Marie Rita (Guilbert) Silveira.

She was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1967. Lucia was previously employed by St. Luke’s Hospital as a dietary aide and by the former Browne Pharmacy as a pharmacy assistant and clerk.

Lucia Loved a variety of music and enjoyed reading, watching movies and television, dining out, dancing, party and home decorating, and especially getting together with family and friends.

She is survived by her brother Manuel (Manny) Silveira of New Bedford and an uncle, Emile Guilbert of New Bedford, Goddaughter Patti Pimental of Bristol, RI and many cousins.

Her funeral will take place Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Padanaram at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be Monday from 6 – 9 p.m. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
