Antone J. Costa

Dartmouth – Antone J. Costa, age 92 formerly of East Freetown, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances (Cabral) Costa and the son of the late Joaquin and Maria Viegas (Cabral) Costa.

Antone was born in New Bedford and worked as a Painter for St. George’s School in Middleton, RI and for Pacheco’s Hardware. He was a member of Local 214 and played the trumpet with Gene Marshall, Art Perry and the Meltones as well several other concert bands.

He is survived by 2 daughters Carolyn Ann and her husband James J, Picanzo lll of Dartmouth, Donna Marie and her husband Greg Mott of Fairmont West Virginia, grandchildren: Krystle and her Husband Kenneth Almeida, Brandon Vello and his companion, Suzanne Tavares, Jon Garcia and his wife Leslie, Emily Mott and Casey Tosti and his wife Samantha, great grandchildren: Kole Almeida, Khloe Garcia, Kalei Garcia and Molly Tosti as well several nieces and nephews and cousins.

His funeral will be Friday in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. with a service to begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8 P.M.. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
