Constantina Duarte

Dartmouth - Constantina Duarte, aged 95 years, passed away July 30, 2005, at Brandon Woods Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late John S. Duarte. Survivors include; 1 Daughter Maria Rodericks of New Bedford, 2 Sons; John D. Duarte of Palmer, Alaska, and Joseph M. Duarte of New Bedford. 17 Grandchildren 32 Greatgrandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild . She was the Mother of the late Dorvalino "David" Duarte and Lodi Poirier

Mrs. Duarte was born in New Bedford Ma, and returned to Portugal at the age 5, she then moved back to New Bedford in 1950 where she lived the rest of her life. She was the daughter of the late Constantina (Cabral) and Alexander Mello. Mrs Duarte was a stitcher for several clothing mills. She loved to Sew!

A Funeral Service will be celebrated Friday August 5, 2005 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 P.M., on Thursday, August 4, 2005 and at 8 A.M. on Friday, August 5, 2005 at the Perry Funeral Home.
