Theresa Silva

New Bedford – Theresa Silva, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Donaldo Silva and the daughter of the late Carlos and Marion (Borges) Lawrence.

Theresa was a lifelong resident of this area and worked as a housekeeper at Sacred Heart Nursing Home for many years until her retirement.

She was a dedicated wife & mother. Her family meant the world to her. She cherished spending the holidays with her family.She enjoyed watching her great grandchildren at their school & sporting events. Girl's night out with her daughters,sisters & nieces was a night she always looked forward to.

She is survived by her 3 children: Debra Ramos and her husband, Buddy, Cherele Fortes and Donald Silva and his partner, Crystal Richard, all of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren: Kristie Silva and her longtime partner, Nathan Dean; Christopher Medeiros, Jason Silva and his longtime partner, Torrea Hardy; Nathan Medeiros, Matthew Silva and Justin Ramos; 6 great grandchildren: Mya Silva, Reece Dean, Jason Silva, Jr., Nathan Medeiros, Jr., Marissa Medeiros & Christopher Medeiros Jr.; siblings, Richard Lawrence, Mary Tremblay and Cynthia Adriano.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 8:00 – 10:00 A.M. with a service to begin at 10:00 A.M on Tuesday, August 30. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
