Joseph C. Prenda

New Bedford – Joseph C. "Butch" Prenda, age 75, passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine (Dias) Prenda and the son of Manuel and Georgiana (Oliveira) Prenda. Joe also leaves a brother Paul Wayne Prenda, husband of Wendi of Dartmouth..
Joseph was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all his life. He worked at Lakeville Hospital as a Chauffer before his retirement. In his spare time Joseph enjoyed working with electronics, photography and listening to country western music.
He is survived by his 3 step children: Jeffrey Vieira, Russell Vieira and his wife Carol and Lisa Marie Proulx all of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren: Alex Vieira, Christopher Proulx Jr., Shannon Vieira, Samantha Laubenstein and her husband Dana and Joshua Daniel Vieira; 2 nephews: Thomas and William Prenda both of Dartmouth; 3 great grandchildren: Paris and Savannah Laubenstein and Gavin Vieira.
Burial of Joseph's cremains will take place Monday August 29th at 10:00 A.M. at Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
