Maria Spirit Saint (Arruda) Gaspar

New Bedford, Maria Spirit Saint (Arruda) Gaspar age 90, passed away on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at home. She was the loving widow of Germano Gaspar and the daughter of the late Maria A. (Cucina) and Manuel Correira.
Maria was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and, after moving to this country, worked at Frionor as a Fish Packer.
Her surviving family includes Daughter in Law: Cindy Gaspar wife of the late David Gaspar. Grandchildren: David Michael Gaspar and his wife Amber, Kyle Gaspar Amy Gaspar and Cole Gaspar; 5 great grandchildren with one on the way, brother: Jose Arruda as well as many nieces and nephews.
She now joins her late husband Germano Gaspar and son David Gaspar.
Her funeral will be Wednesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church of South Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 5-8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
