Fausto Desousa Gago

NEW BEDFORD — Fausto DeSousa Gago, age 85, died on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at his residence. Born in Algarve , Portugal, he was the husband of the late Gertrude Gil (Afonso) Gago and son of the late Catarina (De Sousa) and Jose Gago.

Fausto moved to this country in 1963 and worked many jobs including for Gaspar’s Linguica until his retirement. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening.

His surviving family includes his son, Tim Gago and his wife Sally of Gainesville, Georgia; grandson: Tim Gago and his wife Jennifer of Dartmouth, great grandchildren, Jayna and Jacoby; as well as beloved his Boston Terrier, Marlee.

He was predeceased by 2 siblings: Jose Gago and Catarina DeSousa Pedro.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home Friday July 29th from 8:00 – 10:00 A.M. with a service to begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
