Joseph Duarte

New Bedford – Joseph Duarte, age 71, passed away, peacefully, on June 21, 2016 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the loving fiancé of Anna St. Onge and the son of the late Joao and Constantina (Mello) Duarte.

Joseph was born in St. Michael, Azores, but lived most of his life in this country. He worked for many years as a Taxi Driver until his retirement.

He is survived by his fiancée, Anna St. Onge of New Bedford; 3 children: Tina Duarte, Lisa Duarte and Steven Duarte, all of New Bedford; 2 siblings: Maria Rodericks of New Bedford and John Duarte of Alaska; as well as 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Duarte was predeceased by his son, Michael Duarte and siblings, Durvalino “David” Duarte and Lodi Poirier.
