New Bedford – Rosa Gravato Salvador, age 82 of Dartmouth, passed away on June 21, 2016 at St Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of 57 years to Manuel Salvador and the daughter of the late Luciano and Laura (Pereira) Gravato.
Born in Cova, Figueira da Foz, Portugal, Mrs. Salvador came to this country over 35 years ago and worked for Cornell Dubilier for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed to crochet and cook and was known for always putting other people’s needs before her own.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Salvador, of Dartmouth; 2 children: Rosa Pedrosa and her husband, Antonio, of Dartmouth, and Alvaro Salvador and his wife, Ana of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Sergio Pedrosa and his wife, Ember Ray, Joana Pedrosa, Stefan Salvador and Jacqueline Salvador; 4 great grandchildren: Elena, Amaya, Diego and Adrian; siblings: Estrela Santos of Dartmouth, Graciosa Caneira of Portugal, Maria Cruz of New Bedford, Manuel Gravato, Julia Seco of Dartmouth and Luciana Paxita of New Bedford; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rosa was predeceased by her brother, Jose Gravato.
Visitation will take place Thursday morning in the funeral home from 9 – 11 A.M. with a Service to begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
