Richard J. De Mello

New Bedford – SFC Richard J. De Mello, 75 Massachusetts Army National Guard, retired died June 19th, 2016.He was the husband of Barbara A. De Mello of South Dartmouth, MA. He was the son of the late Manuel T. De Mello and the late Mary (Pacheco) De Mello.
He was a full time employee of the Massachusetts National Guard supply depot, contracting branch, Natick, MA. He served his country for 36 years. He served in Korea in 1969. He was a member of the VFW Post1088 of Kingston, NH.
He leaves his wife, in-laws and nieces and nephews and several godchildren.
In accordnace with his wishes, Richard was cremated. Services will be held on Wednesday June 29 in the funeral home beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial of his cremains will follow in The National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
