Joao Pavao

New Bedford – Joao M. Pavao, age 76, passed away on June 9, 2016 at St Luke’s Hospital. He is the loving husband of Juliana (Aguiar) Pavao and the son of the late Joao M and Maria Jose (Fernandes) and Pavao.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, Joao moved to this area several years ago and worked at Gaspar’s Linguica Co. until his retirement. Joao was a devoted father and a loving husband.

He is survived by his wife, Juliana Pavao of New Bedford; son: Gilly Pavao and his wife Cara of New Bedford, granddaughter, Erica Pavao; sister in-law, Maria Folha and her husband, Afonso, of New Bedford and his twin sister Odete Pavao of St. Michael, Azores.

His funeral will be Monday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 – 7 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
