Alexandrina “Alice” C. Macedo

New Bedford – Alexandrina “Alice” C. Macedo, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Virginio and Maria (Medeiros) Macedo.

Alice was a lifetime resident of this area and was a secretary in the engineering department at Goodyear Rubber until her retirement. She was the recipient of the Marian Medal and was a CCD coordinator. Alice was also a member of the New Creation prayer community as well as the secretary of the Legion of Mary.

She is survived by her 3 sisters: Stella C. Macedo, Theresa Brune, and Natalie Stawasz and her husband Stanley; She is also survived by a sister-in-law Mary C. Macedo, several nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Alice was predeceased by her sister Mary J. Macedo, brothers Ferdinand, his wife Gladys, Gene Macedo, and brother-in-law Manuel Brune, Jr.

Her Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
