Leo J. Phaneuf Jr.

Fall River– Leo J. Phaneuf Jr. age 81, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday April 18, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Gibeault) Phaneuf and the son of the late Leo J. Phaneuf Sr. and Mary (Martin) Phaneuf

Mr. Phaneuf was a lifelong resident of this area and worked for Cornell Dubilier as a degreaser operator for several years until his retirement. Mr. Phaneuf served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his 2 daughters: Tammy Spindola, wife of Glenn Spindola and Deborah Houle all of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren: Christy Rapoza, Christopher Bouchard, Joseph and Hannah Soares, Felisha Morin, Melissa and Marybeth Spindola ; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

His funeral will be Friday beginning in the funeral home at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford.
