Augusto Samagaio

NEW BEDFORD - Augusto Samagaio, age 78 years of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Maria L. (Rocha) and the son of the late Domingos and Maria daConceicao (Pimentel) Samagaio.
Augusto was born in Terceira, Azores and, after moving to this country, worked as a Mechanic for American Flexible Conduit for several years until his retirement. Augusto was a member of the Portuguese Sports Club. He enjoyed eating, watching soccer and the food network.
He is survived by his wife Maria L. (Rocha) of Dartmouth, 4 sons: Augusto R. Samagaio, Steven R. Samagaio, Clifford R. Samagaio and Nicolas Samagaio; siblings: Rafael Samagaio, Germano Samagaio, Manuel Samagaio and Humberto Samagaio; as well as 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M with a service to take place during that time. Cremation will follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
